9 workers at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant were injured in the strong earthquake that struck
Niigata Prefecture on July 16, damaging the plant, company officials said.
The injuries made clear in a survey done by Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), the company that operates
the plant.　The nine were all workers of a company cooperating with TEPCO for maintenance checks and
other procedures. They were reportedly injured by dropping cabinets and broken shards.
